Weight Loss Journey Update

May 12, 2017

This post is sponsored by Poise.  Thoughts and opinions are my own.

Since it Mother’s Day weekend I thought I would update you on my weight loss progress since most of us moms (women in general) struggle with trying to lose weight.  It’s been a while since my last breakdown update.  The last time I shared about my weight loss struggle I was battle the thoughts of giving up.  I’m glad I didn’t.  Here are a few before and progress photos.  I’m not going to use the term after because I’m not done.  This is a lifestyle for me and always will be.  In addition to the progress photos, I also wanted to share what has been helping me on this journey.

I can’t tell you how many pounds that I’ve lost since I started in January.  I ditched the scale over a month ago because it was driving me crazy.  Of course, we like to see the numbers on the scale go down. But when the numbers would go up, it would drive me crazy.  I would become an emotional wreck and want to give up.  Now that the scale is out of the picture, I focus on how I feel and how things fit.  Best thing I’ve done since I’ve been trying to lose weight.  If I have to guess, I’m around 15 to 20 pounds down from the photo on the left.

Since I’ve started back on this weight loss journey I’ve taken a more realistic approach.  This is a lifestyle for me, not just a diet.  I basically watch what I eat.  I know this sounds so generic but that’s what I’ve been doing.  No strict diets.  I try to eat fruits and vegetables throughout the day.  For dinner, I don’t eat bread and limit carbs.  I also double up on the veggies at night.  Using cauliflower rice has a game changer for me.  You can read about it HERE.  When I eat carbs, I try to eat them in the morning and lunch.

Working out has played a big role in my weight loss journey.  I started taking a hip hop dance cardio class that I love!  It’s an hour long and I usually burn 500 to 600 calories.  Thanks to Poise Impressa, I’ve been able to take these classes in confidence.  I shared with you guys last year that I suffer from a combination of an overactive bladder and LBL (light bladder leakage).  Taking a class for one hour can be scary when you don’t know when you have to go.  Using Impressa helps me to feel confident throughout the class.  When I first started using Impressa, I picked up the sizing kit at Walmart to find the right one for me.  Impressa has definitely helped me step up my workout game.  If you suffer from the same issues, pick up an Impressa sizing kit at Walmart.  You’ll be glad you did.

The one thing I have also recently tried is using a waist trainer from https://waistlinetrainer.com/ to help speed up my weight loss. I have loved it so far, and it is really helping to shape my stomach into the size I want – I will keep you updated on the progress I have with it!

These aren’t extreme “OMG” weight loss transformation photos but it’s extreme to me.  I’ve been working really hard for this and I’m proud of myself.  Determination, consistency and having the right tools have helped me in this journey.  I feel good and look good.  Like I said earlier, this is a lifestyle change.  It’s important not only that I stay healthy and fit for myself, but set an example for my girls.

As you know there are so many diets, weight loss programs even medications that you can take all of which state that they can help you lose weight, narrowing them down I was left with a few options, these options were HCG Injections, Apetite Supressants (there are so many different kinds), HCG Drops or lastly simply eating sensibly for life and not just a diet, this choice may not be the best for you so you really need to look into all the options and decide what suits you and your lifestyle to ensure it’s something you can continue even once you’ve lost your desired weight.

Let me know in the comments if you like me to go into more detail about my weight loss and/or fitness routine?
