  • Every time I attend event like @theprevailingwoman Conf, and share it in my stories, I get dozens of... I should have went. What’s keeping you from going? Are you scared? Too shy (or introverted 😒) ? Money? I’m addressing all of this and how to get the most out of a women’s empowerment event. Link in profile. #sheprevails
  • Supermom vibes in the carpool line! The schools are getting all this @supermomculture Magic this school year! Thank you guys for all the support! Hats are almost sold out! Beanies & bags are gone 🙅🏾‍♀️. They will be restocked later this fall. Link in profile #supermom 📷 @kaynjames
  • Didn’t I just have Harper?! Geez! My baby’s 1st day of PreK 3 (yes, she’s 3!) was today and she basically acts like she runs the school. I think she was happy to have time away from mommy after the long summer. It was nice to have a few hours to myself. Now need to sit down and plan out all this time I have available (3.5 hrs) 😩. Mr swears the girls are gone 8 hrs a day and have so much free time 😒. #firstdayofschool
  • Nothing like having lunch dates with your girls while the kids are at school. Counting down to Harper’s first day. Follow @districtmotherhued for special discount on @supermomculture merch! This deal won’t be offered again for a while so 🏃🏾‍♀️ & look for this pic. #supermom #supermomculture 📷 @kaynjames
  • Why play outside when you can have @townctratcobb as your playground? #ad We recently enjoyed a family fun day of playing and shopping at Town Center at Cobb, then dinner and a drink in a cool light bulb container. Town Center at Cobb has great kid-friendly events and special offers for Family program members. • Came back from an amazing weekend in Durham, NC at the @theprevailingwoman conf back to Supermom mode. @letoyaluckett snatched all the edges when she said “If you are not kind to yourself, why would you expect someone else to treat us better than we treat ourselves?” My biggest takeaway is that I need to take care of myself so I can continue to be a supermom. Gray tees and jean hats available now (bags are sold out)! Link in profile. #supermom #supermomculture
  • Sent my baby off to 4th grade this morning. She decided to wear a top she already had and she picked this hair style. She’s also excited to have a black woman teacher and principal. I was so hype that my little brown girl (only one in her grade) will get to see someone that looks like every day during her education journey. #firstdayofschool #blackgirlmagic #atlbraids #targetstyle
  • I’m having an amazing time @sheprevailsconference by @theprevailingwoman. If you watch my stories you will see them in action 💃🏾. I talked about the balancing act on a panel with @_kayalex_ & @themillennialmamma. The consensus is there is no balance. I’ll get deeper in to that in a post later because I think we can all relate to that. Thanks to @suakokobetty I was looking super fly in my kimono and matching shorts. My shoes are like 10 years old 😩. #sheprevails #prevailingwoman
  • The final days of summer! #AD We recently had a family fun day at @townctratcobb. Growing up, my mom and I would go to the mall every Saturday. It was always an adventure. Now, Town Center at Cobb is filled with family fun activities and of course, great shopping! Beat the heat and enjoy a fun family day. Town Center at Cobb has great kid-friendly events and special offers for Family program members. • I’m ready for #backtoschool! New merch available for @supermomculture today! I call this my Momiana hoodie in neon green! I also have baseball caps, beanies, gray tees and sweats! Carpool will never be the same! Link in profile! #supermom #supermomculture 📷 @kaynjames
  • Did you know I had sisters? Here are my two older sisters (far left and far right), my niece and my beautiful mom. I don’t think I talk about my sisters enough since people assume I don’t have any. I also have an older brother but he’s 😜. I’m the baby. We definitely don’t agree on a lot of things but when you mess with one of us, you’ll get the wrath from all of us. My #rideordies #nationalsisterday

Prepping Tips for Go RVing

July 10, 2017

I just returned home from a family trip that I never imagined I would be taking. If you follow me on Instagram or SnapChat you saw that we went camping. I’m so blessed that my family got to have this experience. Before I get into details of our RV trip, I wanted to share with you how I prepared. I’m from Chicago originally, a big city and I don’t know the first thing about camping.  With the help of Pinterest and some major planning, I pulled off this amazing summer trip with Go RVing.

1. After the initial shock of “What did I get myself into’’ I went to GoRVing.com to learn more. I looked at what was included in the RV, so I would know what I needed to pack.

2. Research campgrounds. Since this is the first time doing any sort of camping for both me and my husband, we knew we wanted to stay in Georgia. There are a ton of RV campgrounds. We just looked for one that had the best amenities.

3. Head to Pinterest. I headed to Pinterest and searched RVing. Of course, it was information overload. I stumbled upon a few helpful packing lists that I printed out.

4. Break down lists. I broke up my lists into sections. Kitchen, First Aid, bed, bath, and clothing. This helped me to focus on each one to make sure I had everything.

5. Meal plan and prep. Again, I went to Pinterest for meal ideas. I tried to find the easiest meals that I could make in our small kitchen.

6. Head to the dollar store. I’m the kind of person that likes to have everything that I can think of before I leave. I may be one of the few people that can spend $100 in the dollar store. You’d be surprised how many things you can find for any trip.

7. Call the campground. I called the campground to ask every question I could think of. They happily answered all of them.

8. Pack light. I kept everyone to one backpack for the trip. I didn’t even bring makeup. Ok, I brought concealer and a brow pencil.

9. Hair. One thing I knew I wasn’t going to do was be responsible for combing 3 heads of hair while on our RVing trip. The girls wore braids and twist. I wore hats with a bun in the back. Ain’t nobody got time for that.

10. Plan activities. I always try to make a “flexible” schedule before any trip.  Check out your parks’ attractions ahead of time. Bring some board games and cards with you as well.

We may have packed light on the clothing, but I may have gone overboard on the kitchen. Our Type C motorhome had a full kitchen, and I wanted to make sure I made the most of it.  In addition to the kitchen, I made sure I had a first aid kit, bug repellent, and a toolbox.

Now that I feel like an RV pro, I can’t wait for the next trip! I’ll be sharing more from our RVing trip soon! Until then, you can learn more about Go RVing HERE.

Have you ever been RVing or camping? How do you prepare?

This post was sponsored by Go RVing. Thoughts and opinions are my own.
