  • I heard it’s #nationaldrinkwineday. I thought that was everyday 🤔. I said I would keep wine to the weekends but since it’s a holiday.... 🥂. I also want to take a poll, how often do you have a drink? Daily, weekly, social or never? 📷 @kaynjames
  • Yesterday I had the honor of speaking at @trust_your_strength first mama mixer. The founder @alena0916 even presented a few mother’s including myself a Supermom award. Hearing all the stories from these ladies I don’t feel worthy because I don’t know if I would have the strength to go through what they’ve been through. Alena herself deserves all the awards. She put on this amazing event and is passionate about supporting nicu moms of color. She deserves all the awards. Thanks for having me! PS, I’m not short, these ladies are extra tall 😆.
  • Be your own Valentine and make sure you show yourself some love! Whether you’re celebrating with a partner or not, loving yourself is the most important. ❤️
  • Put together a quick & easy Valentine board inspired by @rosalynndaniels. She made a dessert board and since I’m on a charcuterie board kick, this is perfect.
What’s included:
Flowers from Mr. Grapes, choc strawberries (bought the dip cup of chocolate), blueberry muffins (jiffy mix), bowl of choc covered pretzels, and Hershey kisses. The box of chocolates are from the dollar tree. I put some little lip balms I bought for them on the board. #charchuterie
  • My main gals on Galentine’s Day! They are both out of school tomorrow so i need to figure out what we’re going to do 🤔. Outfit dets on the blog.
  • Happy Galentine’s Day! I’ve been blessed to have some amazing women in my life! From my OG besties to my blogger boos and all of you that show love on the daily! Love you all! #blackgirlmagic #galentinesday 📷 @kaynjames
  • My 3 dates for Valentine’s Day! I’m trying to do better at telling my family and friends that I love them more and followed with kisses and hugs. Those words weren’t used a lot when I was growing up so it’s something I have to be mindful of. Praise God for breaking generational patterns. Miss Jessie’s Pillow Soft Preview

August 1, 2012
Last Friday, one of my bloggy BFF’s, Lexi  from Curls Coils + Kinks hosted a Miss Jessie’s Pillow Soft Curls Preview.  I am a fan of Miss Jessie’s and love the opportunity to learn about new products.  The preview took place at Curltopia Curly Boutique!

Lexi and I at Curltopia.

How cute is Curltopia!  I just love the name as well!

Yolanda from Your Unexpected Beauty

Dee Dee from Miss Foodie Fash and I

Eboni from The Fashionista Next Door was a pillow soft curls model in this cute jumper!

Eboni and hair model Myisha both had their hair styled using the Pillow Soft Curls from Miss Jessie’s using the finger method.  As you can see they both have defined curls.  Once it is completely dry they will be able to style their curls how they want.

What I rocked:  Dress, Forever 21 $9!  Purse, Marc by Marc Jacobs from Cusp NM.  Necklace from Versona, $18.  Shoes are old from Kate Spade.

I have had these shoes for years!  I picked them up from Kate Spade when they had a crazy sale.  I think they are classic but add a little something to your outfit.

I definitely want to try this when I take my hair down.  What do you think about the results of the Pillow Soft Curls by Miss Jessie’s?  Have you recently found a new hair product that you love?  Please share!

Don’t forget, the Shabby Apple Giveaway is still going on! Make sure your enter! HERE

I’ve heard a lot about Pillow Soft Curls. The sisters promote the product a lot on Twitter. I haven’t tried any of their stuff yet though. I may delve into it since I won’t be wearing my hair straight for a while.

You ladies look great as usual.

Your dress proves that one doesn’t have to spend a ton of cash to look fabulous.
This is one of my most favorite look of yours. Just gorgeous!

I am loving your look. And I am THINKING about trying this product out. I’ve tried Miss Jessie’s other products but wasn’t in love….and especially for the price. I MAY give them another chance though. *And of course, when I say “I’ve tried” I really mean “I have tried them on Layla!” ha…but you probably realize that. Fun stuff. Really cute salon.

I love Qhemet Biologics Coco Tree Detangling GHEE.

This is the ONLY product that has my hair feeling soft. Nothing else works for me. (This is coming from a recoverying product junkie), LOL
