School is finally out but at week two of summer, I’m low key ready for them to go back. My oldest, Peyton, started drivers ed right after Memorial Day. Her classes go to the end of June. So I haven’t gotten a break from “school” yet. Then throw in camps for my ten year old Harper. Your girl is running up and down the road multiple times a day to get everyone where they need to go and I’m already exhausted.

Enough of my fussing. I wanted to share a few things I teach my kids at home and may be something you want to share with your kids this summer.
First up is the US map. I don’t even think they teach geography outside of learning the continents in 2nd grade. Most people don’t know where they are or where they are going. I have a corporated background in logistics so me and maps go together real bad.
I start by having Harper study the filled out map. Then I print several blank ones so she can retry. I let her check her own work at first so she can remember which ones she needs to study more. Now we’re at the point where she can’t get her Ipad until she gets them all right.
These are one of the soft skills that will help them throughout life. You can download the maps I use below.
