  • Quarantine cuties! I bought these outfits before the lockdown because we were scheduled to be traveling this week. Since their hair was done we might as well 📸. But why are they so cool! Links to their outfits on the blog. #targetstyle #fashionkids
  • Those pedicures hit diff when you can’t go to the nails shop! It had gotten so bad that I didn’t want to touch my own feet. I grabbed my pumice, cuticle remover, soaked my feet and went to work! These were supposed to be my spring summer sandals. Got them from ASOS before ish got real! I’ll link them in my stories shortly.
  • Shout out to all the moms holding it down and homeschooling! These kids may be trying to take us out but we got this! @Supermomculture #dontrushchallenge featuring

  • No judgment zone! While scouring IG looking for hair inspo at time I’ve noticed “strangers” in the comments telling people how their kids hair should look. I’m guilty of having my opinions in the past but I kept them to myself. I remember when I said I would never put beads in my kids hair, add color, blow it out or add hair. Look at us now. I think all those “rules” held us back from embracing our hair. While I won’t do anything to damage their hair I do encourage them to try different styles. Peyton knows her hair is magical and she can do so many things. She gets to the point where she asks me if she could wear it natural for a while vs the other way around. I offered to give her a long ponytail for her cheer competition and she said no she was fine. Ok den! I know My mood is better when my hair is laid. Love our girls can express themselves with their hair. What’s a hair rule that you have broken for you or your children?

  • Harper got her bedroom “office” update. I styled the book shelves (she has a ton in her closet) and added a dry erase board. She loves to practice her letter on it. Just after one day, her markers were confiscated 😒. Not sure what my next project will be. I’m avoiding my closet but I seriously need to tackle that asap. You can find more pics of her room on the blog. Link in profile. #heytrinashome #kidsdecor
  • My first time doing braid with hair ever! I did box braids on Peyton’s hair using @latchednhooked pre-stretched hair. I’m so happy with how they came out I’m tempted to doing some on myself 😳. I used the rubber and method. Ore pics on the blog. Would you try these? If you try this please share with me! #boxbraids #girlbraidstyles #latchednhooked #protectivestyles #diybraids https://heytrina.com/easy-box-braids-you-can-do-yourself-video/
  • My favorite part of Peyton’s bedroom refresh is her art from @sheisthisdesigns! I need to order more for Harper’s room and my new office space. I dreamed of having a room like Peyton’s when I was growing up (sometimes now 😆). She’s also has a closet to die for. I always tell her if she can’t keep it clean, I’m putting my stuff in there. We’ll be cleaning that out soon! Paint color is Revere Pewter by Benjamin Moore. More room pics on the blog. Link in profile. #heytrinashome
  • Picture of my girls actually fighting against doing any school work. This homeschooling thing is a full time job! Mr has locked himself in my old office leaving me to fend for myself. I’ve decided to give the girls and myself grace (and 🍷). Not that I’m letting them win, after hours of going back and fourth I have to know when to call it a day. One night I was up with Peyton till almost 10 helping her finish her work and I knew this can’t be life. So we’re working about 2-3 hrs a day on school plus reading. That’s all i got. Just praying she passes 4th grade 😩. How’s it going for you guys? #graceandmercy shirts fine @pintsizefaith
  • Another project under my quarantine belt! Peyton’s pre-tween bedroom refresh is done! It looks so good and matches the vibe of the rest of the house. Peyton wanted to kick the bright pinks to the curb. Now Harper wants her room update 😒. Her only update will be a good cleaning 😩. Spent less than $100. Swipe to see the before that was already cute. I love me some protective hairstyles. I switch my hairstyles up from weaves to braids to crochet hair. Protective styles are low-maintenance, protect your natural hair and keep you looking good on the go. Protective styles may be low-maintenance, but you still have to take care of your hair and scalp underneath. I wanted to share with you how I maintain a healthy scalp with a few simple tips and the help of Dove DermaCare Scalp Dryness & Itch Relief Shampoo and Conditioner.

Before we get into it, I want to introduce you to the latest innovation from Dove Hair, the Dove DermaCare Scalp Series. Dove DermaCare Scalp Series features three variants that combine the perfect blend of powerful, skin-focused technology with the nourishment of Dove, resulting in no visible flakes with regular use.

  1. Make sure your hair isn’t too tight. If your stylist braids too tight, ask them to do it looser. Pulling the hair can cause unnecessary damage to your scalp.
  2. Wash your extensions or braids regularly. It can be a hassle to wash extensions but this is the best way to maintain a healthy scalp. Using Dove DermaCare Scalp Dryness & Itch Relief Shampoo and Conditioner, I pay special attention to my leave-out are and where I experience itchiness and dryness. Dove DermaCare Scalp series nourishes dry, irritated and itchy scalp.

  1. Don’t scratch your scalp. As a long time extension wearer, I’ve learned my lesson of scratching my scalp. Not only does it bring up dandruff, but it also can break skin. Dove DermaCare Scalp Dryness & Itch Relief Shampoo and Conditioner are formulated with coconut and shea butter to hydrate dry scalp and relieve irritation.
  2. Do not wear a protective style more than 6-8 weeks! Your hair needs to be nourished, so taking down braids and extensions are a must after wearing for several weeks.

  1. Nourish your scalp with Dove DermaCare Scalp Dryness & Itch Relief Shampoo and Conditioner in between styles. Using Dove DermaCare Scalp collection, it helps to Nourishes dry itchy scalp, relieve scalp irritation, and hydrates hair. Dove DermaCare Scalp series also will have your hair flake free with regular use. Winter is coming and we know how those flakes like to make an appearance.

After my first use of Dove DermaCare Scalp Dryness & Itch Relief Shampoo and Conditioner, my hair was flake free and was no longer itchy. Without adding my usual styling products, my hair felt smooth and hydrated. Itchy scalp is my biggest complaint with wearing protective styles. Using Dove DermaCare Scalp Dryness & Itch Relief Shampoo and Conditioner helped to solve that problem immediately. No more beating myself in the head patting my weave.

Dove DermaCare Scalp is a great addition to your current beauty routine and gives you beautiful and smooth, flake-free hair*. Thanks to Dove DermaCare Scalp you will get flake free hair*, nourishment with zero compromise. The Dove DermaCare Scalp Collection (Pure Daily Care, Invigorating Mint, and Dryness & Itch Relief) are available at Target, Walmart and your local drugstore for $4.99 each.

*No visible flakes with regular use
