I didn’t intend to post about the Trayvon Martin case. The verdict came in last night. Not Guilty. The case was not proven beyond a reasonable doubt for the jury. We have to accept it, learn from it and move on. What I won’t accept are racist comments or insensitivity to the issue. Especially from Mommy Bloggers with a platform. Please don’t post messages with racist undertones & snark in b/w your sponsored tweets during an event like this trial. People are hurt! Moms (of all races) are looking at their sons (kids) like they could be a Trayvon Martin. Bottom line, a child that was walking home from the store ended up dead. No one wins.

July 14, 2013 at 8:33 pmOn the other hand, I can appreciate her authenticity because it makes it easier for people who don’t want to stand for what a person like that represents to disassociate. If such people kept their mouths shut, then we’d be left to wonder what kind of person they are.
I hope the Martin family finds peace and closure some other way.
