Bantu Knot Tutorial + #EDENKids Giveaway!

May 6, 2015

As moms’ of little brown girls, Christina from Baby Brown Sugar and I know the struggle is real.  Not only do we want they hair to be healthy and look nice but we also want our daughters to love their hair.  When Peyton was born almost 5 years ago, there weren’t any hair care products designed with my daughters curls in mind.  I was super pumped to learn that one of my favorite hair care companies, EDEN Bodyworks, launch their kids line.  Christina and I are sharing some of our styling tips using the EDEN Kids collection.

I usually detangle my boy’s hair, fluff, and go. If I want to avoid shrinkage, I’ll flat twist after detangling or throw it in a pony.

I shampoo daughter hair every two weeks and deep condition 1x a month. I always plat it into different styles and get it braided sometimes…

I wash my Addi’s hair every two weeks. Anything to help with the detangling would be great. That is the hardest part of wash day for us.

Shampoo, condition sometimes, then leave in and oil. Her hair still gets dry 2-3 days later.

Since I don’t have a child, my hair is my child. I’m new to the natural world and my styling techniques need major work. I LOVE looking at hair tutorials for my 4c hair, but I never have the right products to do it successfully. I
When I’m not looking at hair tutorials, I co wash my hair weekly and then put on a leave in conditioner while it’s still damp and try to seal with olive oil, but my hair never stays soft and moist. It’s always gets dry, limp, and oily

I flat twist their hair only after a fresh wash on detangled hair. I apply leave in conditioner and then olive oil and seal with shea butter. I then section the hair and flat twist a step at a time. I make sure they sleep on a satin pillow case. It is usually so pretty and everyone wants to know the secret to such lush and sleek ‘black hair’.

I like the co-wash method. I condition her hair twice a week unless the scalp is dirty. If so, I wash with shampoo. Then add olive oil and a cream moisturizer. Next I section into 3 puffs or twist. On days that we do not was I spritz with distilled water and then add a cream moisturizer and section into puffs or twist.

I like to use the L.C.O method , I wash their hair once a week, use protein treatments when needed and ocasionally deep condition. I do protectivive styling as well.

For summer I try to do a french braid daily. She will be starting to swim soon, and if I don’t get it braided it’s a huge mess!!

I like to twist outs and braid outs on my little cousin. She loves wearing her hair natural.

My girls usually wear their hair in a protective style after moisturizing it using LOC method.

I usually just carry my hair without any styling. I usually do the bantu knot or protective style whenever.
