Laundry Room Makeover with Tide + Gain

October 7, 2015

This summer I had the opportunity to take a trip visit P+G in Cincinnati, the makers of Tide and Gain.  Since my return, I haven’t looked at washing my clothes the same way.  I immediately made over my laundry room. tide 1

I don’t know where I’ve been but I assumed all detergents were created equal.  I wasn’t about to part with my coins to splurge on what I thought was fancy detergent.  Boy did I get schooled by the Procter + Gamble Research and Development team.

The evolution of Tide.  First introduced in 1946.  Liquid Tide hit the market in 1984.  It took 8 years of research and development to make Tide Pods, which are pretty new on the scene. tide 3

I learned that water that comes into our homes has chlorine in it.  So over time, that chlorine will eventially start to fade your clothes even if you just washed with water alone.  You can see from the picture above how Tide protects clothes from chlorine and bleach.  Drops of bleach was placed over Tide (far right), controlled (middle) and a competitive brand (far left).  I was sold after seeing how Tide protects your clothes from chlorine. tide 4

You can check out these two dresses.  The one on the right has been washed 5 times in Tide and the left 5 times in a competitors detergent.  You can see how the dress on the left is starting to turn yellow and dingy looking.  I told them I would take the dingy dress if they didn’t want it anymore : ).

When I returned from my trip, I called my mom so excited to share with her how awesome Tide and Gain was for our clothes.  She was like ” Duh, Trina.  That’s all I use”.  I’m thinking, am I the only person that thought all detergents were the same?  On top of that, we just purchased a new fancy washer and dryer set and  I was still using the cheap stuff.  I could kick myself.  Needless to say, I have made a much needed change to my laundry room.  Are you a Tide or Gain (Gainiacs) user?

*My trip was covered by P+G.  Thoughts and opinions are my own.

I’ve always used Tide or Gain. I’ve actually been stuck on Tide though for the past few years. Detergent and fabric softener combo I use is the BEST!!

I love Tide but I admit I often don’t want to part with the coins but good detergent does make a difference.
