A diet can mean two things. The kind of food a person eats or a special course of food to which one restricts oneself, either to lose weight or for medical reasons. I need to change my “diet” in order to loose weight and to prevent life threatening diseases. I figured I would start health and fitness conversation on the blog. I’m not going to tell you how to lose weight, what to eat and what workouts to do. I plan to share what I’m doing to reach my goals and my ups and downs getting there. I think putting it out there will hold me accountable and maybe help someone else.
I know what some (maybe just a few) are thinking… “You don’t need to loose weight, you look fine.” I know (JK). Problem is I can’t fit into any of my clothes. I’m down to a handful of items that I can fit. I’ve gained almost 20 pounds in the last year! Yes 20! Besides being pregnant, this is my heaviest weight ever! I lost about 10 pounds with Weight Watchers early this year but I’ve gained it back, plus a few more. No one to blame but myself. I love french fries and chicken biscuits.
Mister was getting on me for wearing all black. He said you couldn’t see my rolls that good. He almost got a Bruce Leroy kick to the head. I told him I was not trying to humiliate myself. While I may look pretty decent on the front view, all the action is happening on the side profile. Hence, why I don’t move in my photos. Do you see that waistline? I don’t know where my waist stops and my butt begins. LOL! But I’m not looking for a pity party. I thought if I put it out there it will force me to make changes and possibly motivate others along the way.
I’m not giving up on my closet of wonderful clothes or putting myself at risk for preventable diseases because I want to eat french fries three times a day. I want to be a healthy fly and fit mom. So now it’s out there. I’ll check-in next week with some updates. Wish me luck!

June 11, 2014 at 4:01 pmBest wishes. I am in the same boat (outside of the kid). I am just ridiculous. This is the heaviest I’ve ever been, and I hate taking pictures. I need to work on my diet. I have my bad days where all I want is a coke and chocolate.

June 12, 2014 at 1:38 pmYou can do it! Once your mind is made up, nothing can stop you. If you need more motivation purchase the book One Pound a Day. It has so much info in it about the food we eat and how to detox! Check out the reviews on Amazon. I am reading it now.

June 13, 2014 at 6:03 pmTrina, I’ve struggled since I turned 35. When I’m really trying to lose a few pounds, I drink hot, unsweetened green tea at least twice a day. It seems to curb my appetite for sweets and my beloved french fries. 🙂
