The summer has flown by and August is almost here. You know what that means? It’s time for kids to head back to school. Peyton will be starting pre-k in August and I can’t believe I will have a school age child on my hands. All she talks about is going to pre-k and doing everything by herself, like getting dressed for school. Even though I may shed a tear on the first day of school, I get excited about back to school shopping. Peyton and I headed to Shoe Carnival this weekend to pick up some new kicks for school.
The Shoe Carnival kids section is very well organized with a great kids selection and a ton of shoes out on the floor. I loved not having to wait for a sales associate to run back and forth to tell you if the size you want is available. There were several sales associates ready to help me when I needed it.
Peyton was so excited to go shoe shopping at Shoe Carnival because I told her she could pick out her own shoes. I’ve created a little shopaholic. She was grabbing all types of shoes, in any size. I had to tell her what numbers to look for. She quickly caught on.
Once Peyton discovered the section of Skecher’s light-up shoes she was in shoe princess heaven. Peyton’s been asking for some light-up shoes since a little girl in her class showed up in a pair. Now it’s her turn to light up the classroom, but had to coach her into narrowing it down to one pair of lights.
You have to blame me for this Adidas sock and sandal combo. Peyton saw these and had to have them because I wear Adidas sandals at home. Don’t judge me. She can wear them around the house, swim classes and soccer. That’s what they’re for right?
I may or may not have persuaded Peyton to try on these pink and black Nike sneakers. I’m a sucker for black sneakers.
Check out Shoe Carnival’s TV ad (HERE) for Back to School. This is totally me when I shop for shoes now! Have you started shopping for back to school?

July 23, 2014 at 1:38 pmMadi doesn’t go back to school until Sept but we’ve already started our BTS shopping! I like to be ahead of the game. 🙂 We don’t have a Shoe Carnival near us but I agree I love shopping for kids shoes in this type of setting – just find your size and go! Super cute options. We told M she couldn’t get light up shoes this year…she gets them every year. Bad Parents! Ha Black sneakers are a must for back to school.

July 23, 2014 at 2:27 pmI love that place! I actually get all of Jack Jack’s school shoes from there. We always get high-top Converses for the fall and then winter boots once the snow hits, for the past couple years, they’ve carried some Ralph Lauren boots that are really, really good in storms.
