It’s hard to believe that Thanksgiving is in a few weeks and Christmas is around the corner. This is time of year to focus on family. We hustle and grind all year without spending time with family. The holidays are a time when we can slow down and take time to focus on spending quality time with our loved ones.
Being home for the holidays is very important to my family and me. Before I had my own family, I made sure that every holiday I would return to Chicago to be with my mom and sisters. Holidays just aren’t the same without. Now that I have my own immediate family, we are keeping with that tradition of going Home for the Holidays. It’s just Mister, Peyton and I on a daily basis, working and going to school. I want Peyton to know there is more to life than just going through the motions. Family is important. When we return to Chicago or host in our home, we hug, kiss and love on one another. We share old stories, some that I’m not proud of, but we still get a good laugh out of them. Of course we eat…boy do we eat!
In Peyton’s four years of holidays, being with family is all she knows. I want her to know for sure that she has a loving family and someone will always be there for her. I truly believe that “Home” in Home for the Holidays really means “Family” for the Holidays.
African Pride recognizes how important family is during holiday season. This is why African Pride is hosting their “Home for the Holidays” contest for a chance to win a grand prize of $2,500 just in time for the holidays. Between now and 11/29/2014, contestants will upload their favorite family holiday photo and share in a few words (short essay) what “Home for theHolidays” means to them. Entries will be judged both on the photo and the essay and winners will be chosen by a Strength of Nature panel of judges on 11/30/2014 . The Grand Prize winner will receive $2500 cash to use to be with their family this holiday or any other way they choose. Four top prize winners will receive $250 Visa Gift Cards and 3 additional winners will be chosen each week to receive $100 in African Pride products. Click HERE to enter. Even if you don’t win, you still need to make sure your hair is on point! Head to Sally Beauty Supply to find a great selection of African Pride products.
In addition to the awesome giveaway that African Pride is hosting, I will be giving one Baby Shopaholic reader a 3 month supply of African Pride products. Winner will have to be over 18 years old and have a US shipping address. Giveaway will end at 11:59 on November 29th. So you have lots of chances to win! Use the widget below to enter.

November 11, 2014 at 8:58 pmThe holidays are a great time to remember and enjoy family no matter what it (family) looks like, but more importantly remember to invite those in that have no family to make memories with you. And no matter how embarrassing those stories are we love them 🙂
