Sunday evening, YouTube superstar & natural hair diva, Taren Guy brought her Luv & Learn Your Hair tour to Atlanta. Luv & Learn Your Hair tour is to help encourage women to learn to love THEIR hair! There was a line a block long of natural hair enthusiasts waiting to get into the event. The Atlanta Luv & Learn Your Hair event was sponsored by Carol’s Daughter and Hairfinity.
Taren is stunning! You can see why she has over 17 million YouTube views!
Taren brought an expert panel consisting of Carol’s Daughter Founder, Lisa Price, Philly from Jam Poet, Robin Groover, owner of Too Groovy Salon, and Ebony of EClark6. Each panelist talked about their natural hair journey. I was surprised to learn that Lisa Price, the founder of Carol’s Daughter has been natural for over 30 years (even though she looks no older than 30, maybe she was a baby).
During the event they did a live Big Chop! Big Chop means to cut all your hair down to the root! This is a big deal! To see it happen live was very inspiring. This brave women got all her hair cut off on stage in front of hundreds of women! I would have been thinking to myself, I gotta go to work in the morning and I have no hair! But she was so excited to start this new journey in her life and she looked great!

I went super casual to the event wearing my Wu-Tang tee with a utility jacket.
The event was very inspiring. While we all have our hair crushes like Taren and Lexi with the Curls, we have to learn to embrace the hair we have on our head. I will never have either one of these ladies hair. It’s not a bad thing, I just have to embrace the hair I have and learn what works best for me. What works best for my busy schedule and limited hair combing time is wearing my extensions. I can get up and go and look somewhat put together.
Have you learned to love your hair? Taren’s Luv & Learn Your Hair tour is still going on. Check here for next stops.
